Dr. say what??

Okay, my apologies….again… it’s been a week or so since my last entry!! This time it’s totally legit though!! When kylie was diagnosed with pneumonia Karter had a little cough and Kylie was getting better slowly but surely and then by Friday evening Karter had a low grade fever and all day Saturday it was around 101 but broke quickly with Tylenol. By Monday he was lethargic, and I couldn’t keep his attention or keep him awake. I took his temp and it was 103.1. I got him to swallow some Tylenol as I rushed into the clinic and they got him in immediately. His oxygen was 87 and the Tylenol I gave him as we left the house had brought his temp to 101.7. They took x-rays and sure enough…Kart had pneumonia. He had it in both lungs…he got a “super-anti-biotic” shot and antibiotic prescription to take at home…with an appointment to come back wed. Unless anything has changed. We made it to Wednesday…Tuesday he was given a blessing by my Bishop and my Boss. I had to rotate Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hrs or his fever was up to 103 and gaining. Wed we went in and his O2 was 91 he was slowly getting better. Still had a fever but that’s normal. We treated his fever and by Friday when he still had a high temp I took him back in. ANOTHER Shot!! He seems to be getting better each day…sleeping a lot, hardly eating (he’s lost 8lbs and counting) but the Dr. says that’s normal. He’s not having trouble breathing or coughing and his fever is a low grade fever so I guess I should be happy with that! Hate seeing him like this…doesn’t really care about anything…just wants to sleep. So…my weeks been exciting to say the least! Try to give you more tonight!

1. I am also shy. Very shy. I know, I know…those of you who know me might not believe it because you know me and I am not shy around you…people I don’t know or don’t know well enough…I am very shy and quiet.

4. I hate the fact I am so stubborn and when I believe in something (good or bad) I can’t convince myself to sit back and keep quiet.

6. I understand now that disciplining your children really is harder on you than it is them…and it is very hard not spoil them but teach them earn and appreciate things they do have.
7. I wish I was closer to my little brother and my cousins who only live within 30 min. each direction of me…more a part of their lives.

HAPPY VALENTINES!!

Happy Valentines Day!! I decided I would Copy Alicia's idea's on the slide show and music...What agreat touch!! And Yes, I also decided the page needed a face-lift!!! I am excited to announce that I will be a witness for Summer and Justin's sealing...it was very nice to hear that they wanted me to do that for them! I am soooo PROUD of them and can't wait for them to go to the temple as a family and be sealed forever! How exciting! Well, since we got dumped on (snow of course) and the winds are up...I better run to get a head start on getting to work!! Might take a while! Happy Valentines Day!!

And literally- I used spell check and apparently did not pay attention....when Kylie wouldn’t let me put her down it wasn’t "incontinence" it caused it was "inconvenient" !! Another day in my life...what a circus!!

Good- because there is no way I could keep up on this!! It's been a week or so since my 1st entry and life just keeps me on my toes. When I picked up the kids on Friday after work Kylie wouldn’t let me put her down for more than 20 min. and during those 20 min. she wouldn’t let me out of her sight. This continued all through the weekend, each day was progressively worse. As incontinent as that was I was glowing inside....my little girl sure missed me!!! Yay for me!!! I am doing something right!!! Come Monday morning after no sleep it occurred to me she didn't care who I was...she was miserable and wanted someone to comfort her....what a burst to my bubble!! I have had a few of those in my 25 yrs so I pulled out my big girl panties and quit feeling sorry for myself and took her to the Doc...it was more than I suspected....she had an ear infection that was just starting to rupture. the pressure had caused a small hole to burst open in her ear drum, and her cough had turned into pneumonia. This is the 2nd time I have missed an ear infection with her and the second time I find out her cough isn’t just a cough...Let me re-phrase that...the 2nd time in about a month!!! I am a terrible mom I just cant seem to figure her out. I expect her to act like Karter did when he was a baby (I knew in an instant when he had an ear infection because he wouldn’t drink a single oz of a bottle because the sucking hurt his ear) and I have to remember they are different and they wont act in the same way. This brings me to my next update---I expected Kylie to act like Karter if she has an ear infection...she doesn’t. The reason she doesn’t is because SHE LOVES FOOD. Pain or no Pain....she will eat!!! While dealing with her infection (unfortunately that small hole did not relieve all the pressure) I decided to introduce squash...since she has done so well with cereal and it was a hit! Currently wondering if I will come across a food she doesn’t enjoy! Over the weekend I purchased a pre-school activity book that karter and I work on every night before bed. We learn one letter and one number and do one activity page with shapes or colors. He knows how to say his alphabet and count but he's learning to write each of them...he loves it! We also started reading a story of his choice with Kylie before the lights go out. I kick myself for not doing that on a daily basis before now but we both look forward to it and I think Kylie does too....she gets pretty jabbery and does allot of talking while I read!! I also need to mention that we got together with Sean and Stephanie and Kevin and Justin and Sum and all the kids (except Sean and Leah's little boy Jace...he stayed home with mom because he was sick) at Grandpa and Grandma Dance's on Saturday for a pot luck dinner Sean and Justin organized....it was allot of fun to see those guys! We haven’t seen near enough of them considering how close we all live now. I hope we do that allot more often, I know I sure enjoyed it and I know it was really nice for grandpa and Grandma also! Well...karter is notifying me that I am taking too long and it's time for our story so I better run!! Goodnight!

Copy Cat

Yes, I decided to copy Summer and create a blog. I have known about these things for quite some time now but had no interest to create one until I starting following Megans (friend of Summer & Justins) and than when I saw Summer had created one I figured I would give it a try and she could be my personal guide for "Blog's for dummies" if I couldnt figure it out. It has taken me about 3hrs at this point all because she's screening her calls!! I chose my title because I am trying to learn how to laugh at life...somedays are easier than others of course but I figure this life is all about learning anyway so I better get started....even if it is 25 years behind schedule!! Please wish me luck...I need all I can get!! As for this blog...I'll try to keep you updated with (I love Summer's choice of words) all of our entertaining MIS-Adventures!!
